Cabo is sunny almost year-round, so the best time depends on whether you want perfect weather, whale watching, or the lowest prices.

On the tip of Baja, Cabo San Lucas is one of the driest, sunniest beach destinations in Mexico. Weather is reliably good most of the year, so crowds and package prices are what really shift by season. Here's how to choose your window — and when deals are cheapest.

Best weather

November through May is dry, warm and sunny with low humidity — Cabo's prime season and its busiest, priciest window. Winter days are comfortable rather than scorching, ideal for the beach and the outdoors.

For great weather with better value, target early November or May, just outside the absolute peak.

Cheapest times to go

The best value is generally June through September, when summer heat lowers demand and package and flight prices drop noticeably. It's hot and more humid, with a small storm risk, but resorts are quieter and cheaper.

Early November and late spring are sweet spots — strong weather with softer prices than the December–April peak.

Whale season and spring break

Gray and humpback whales migrate past Cabo roughly mid-December through April, making winter the top time for whale-watching tours — a big draw that adds to peak demand.

March and early April bring spring break crowds and higher prices, concentrated around the marina and party strip. Families and couples seeking quiet often shift a few weeks or choose calmer resort areas like the Corridor or San José del Cabo.

Hurricane season, explained

The Eastern Pacific hurricane season runs roughly June through November, with the highest storm chance in late summer and early fall. Direct hits on Cabo are relatively uncommon, but the risk is why summer and early-fall prices are lowest.

If you travel in these months, consider travel insurance. An advisor can compare resorts, dates and flexible fares so weather risk doesn't derail the trip.
