Business class is a premium travel class offered by many commercial airlines. This travel class is basically an intermediate level of service between first class and economy class (and also premium economy in some airlines). Many airlines have now eliminated first class and are now offering business class as the highest level of service. The amenities such as ground service, drinks, food, quality of seating and others distinguishes business class from other travel classes.

Business class has become a luxurious form of travel and is being increasingly adopted by many people for its sheer comfort and top-notch services on the ground and in the air. Here are some of the major benefits of flying in business class.

Dedicated lounge area: Many airlines offer dedicated lounge area to the passenger. This though depends on the airport and the airline. You can however expect a comfortable seating area, a full bar, a self-service buffet, and a business center equipped with all amenities needed to work. At some airports the business class lounge also offers a full dining service, cigar bars and spa services.

Extra space and privacy: The passengers are offered far more legroom with business class seats that are wider than economy and premium economy. The business class cabin has fewer seats in each row with fewer people. A privacy divider is installed at each seat separating the passengers with each other. Some airlines offer lie-flat seats, while others offer a deep recline for taking naps during long-haul flights.

Business class seats are offered by major U.S. airlines such as Delta Airlines, American Airlines, United Airlines, Alaska Airlines and JetBlue Airways.

Delta Airlines: The business class is named Delta One, and offers exclusive business elite experience when flying with Delta Airlines on select long-haul international flights from Atlanta, Detroit and Los Angeles to destinations in Asia and Europe. The passengers are offered 180 degree lie-flat beds with direct aisle access and Westin Heavenly in-flight bedding. American Airlines: The business class offered by American Airlines is called Flagship Business, and is offered on long-haul international flights as well as transcontinental routes between major markets like New York and Los Angeles or San Francisco. The amenities offered to business class passengers include priority check-in, two complimentary checked bags, accelerated security queues at some airports, priority boarding through a dedicated lane, access to Admirals Clubs, 180-degree lie-flat seats with direct aisle access, amenity kit, Casper bedding, and personal screens for in-flight entertainment, among others.

United Airlines: United Business is offered on flights between the United States and Latin America or the Caribbean, as well as select U.S. transcontinental flights. The passengers can look forward to enjoying a more relaxed experience with Premier Access premium travel services, including Premier Access check-in counters and security lanes. The business class tickets also come with other privileges such as priority boarding, two standard-sized free checked bags, extra-spacious United Business seat with a six-way adjustable headrest and a padded articulating seat cushion, United Private Screening entertainment, and complimentary full-meal service.

Alaska Airlines: The Premium Class offered by Alaska Airlines is at par with business class, and offers amenities such as Recaro leather seats, four extra inches legroom than Main Cabin, early boarding (before Main Cabin), complimentary soft drinks and snacks, power socket and Alaska Beyond Entertainment to stream to your personal device.

JetBlue Airways: The business class offered by JetBlue Airways is called Mint Experience, and is only available on select flights. The amenities offered includes two free checked bags, amenity kits, 15″ flat-screen TVs, priority baggage, artisanal dining, lie-flat seats, early boarding, expedited security (where available), dedicated check-in counters, no change or cancellation fees, and more.
